We're here! We're finally in Jeffreys Bay, SA and it feels amazing! But allow me to go back a couple of weeks, to training camp. On September 8th I met all of my teammates in Georgia, where we spent an amazing week getting to know each other. It was an absolute blessing being able to spend time with all 40 of the other students, and the 10 leaders. During camp we had sessions on listening prayer and learning about the African culture, and doing team building activities. You'd be surprised how well 41 people who don't know each other work together. The entire week was a wonderful learning experience. You could definatly see Gods hand in all that went on.
We left Georgia on Sept. 15th and arrived in SA on the 16th, it was a long, tough trip but it was worth it. Thank God I had no problems getting in to the country, because as many of you know, I can't get a year visa. Unfortunately though, our cook, Melissa lost her passport and was deported back to Canada. I would like to ask for you to pray for her, as she's faithfully relying on God for what she should do.
Yesterday we received our ministry assignments, after much prayer all of us were placed. The ministry that I have been blessed with is 7th Heaven Orphanage. Its about a ten minute walk from where we're staying, and is absolutely wonderful. This orphanage is still new, and very small, only six children at the moment. Ranging from age 2- 12, we're getting another girl on Friday who is 12 years old. I'm very excited to be part of this ministry for the next three months.
